From spring 2001 until autumn 2003 the Southeast Association
has focused mainly on the interethnic dialogue in the Western
Balkan region. Conferences held in Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo
and in Montenegro provided the fora for an intensive dialogue
and for discussions on problems and perspectives of the interethnic
coexistence in the related countries / entities. The participants
came from the civil society (academics, media, culture, think
tanks, NGOs etc.) and from German and international organisations
/ think tanks. Each conference followed the same structure
